Cotter Type Short Pitch Precision Roller Chains A series
Some roller chain applications require a chain that features the ability to assemble and disassemble in the field rather than using a "grind and punch" method. In such a circumstances, we recommend you Cottered Type Roller Chain. Our Cottered style roller chains are manufactured with the same standard dimensions as a riveted roller chain, just with cotters instead of rivets.

What is the main difference between cotter chain and riveted roller chain?
Cotter chains use removable cotter pins instead of fixed rivets. This design lets workers assemble or take apart the chain directly on site. The overall dimension stays the same as riveted chains, though cotter chains are usually a little wider.
Can I cut cotter type roller chains by myself?
While cotter pins can be removed, the link plates are still press-fitted. A roller chain breaker tool is still recommended for safe cutting. Trying to break the chain without proper tools may damage the links.
What cotter pin types do you offer?
