Food and beverage plants rely heavily on double pitch straight side plate conveyor chains to move bottles, packaged goods and raw materials. High humidity and frequent washing bring extra challenges to chain parts.
Operators should inspect chain tension regularly. Too tight tension speeds up wear on pins and bushings; loose chains may jump sprockets and cause unexpected stops. For stainless steel chains used in washdown areas, use compatible lubricants that meet food-grade requirements. Avoid ordinary oil that may contaminate products.
Many users mix small roller and large roller types without noticing the difference. Large roller chains are meant to slide on track surfaces, while small roller versions mesh with sprocket teeth. Mixing these two will lead to unstable running and early failure.
Our workshop receives many inquiries for modified A-series chains with custom lugs and extended pins. For projects with special spacing or mounting needs, sending layout drawings early helps shorten confirmation time and avoid mistakes during production.
