ANSI double pitch roller chain is an extended type of standard short pitch roller chain. Engineers designed this chain mainly for conveyor transmission, instead of heavy power drive. Compared with ordinary short pitch roller chain, its pitch becomes twice longer, while the size of pin, roller, bush and link plate stays unchanged.

The biggest advantage of double pitch chain is lower unit weight. With the same total length and static strength, less raw material is used. This helps customers cut material cost for long-distance conveying lines. It still follows ANSI standard specifications and can match standard sprockets properly.

Most double pitch chains are made of carbon steel. Parts are heat treated by case hardening and quenching to get good wear resistance. Surface treatment options include blackening and zinc plating, to fit different working environments.

There are two common series for ANSI double pitch chain. C2040, C2050, C2060 belong to the light series with small rollers. C2080, C2082, C2100 use larger rollers for heavier loads. Users need to select roller types according to their conveyor structure.

It is important to understand its usage limits. Double pitch chain works well for light and medium load conveying. It is not suitable for high-speed, heavy shock power transmission. Improper selection will lead to fast wear and short service life.
